Narendra Damodardas Nodi, commonly known as Narendra Modi was born on September 17, 1950, in Vadnagar in India. Modi is an Indian politician and also government official, who has become the main leader of Bharatiya Janata Party. In 2014 he led his party to the victory in the lower chamber in Indian Parliament. After the victory, he became the prime minister in India. Before his career of a prime minister, he was the chief minister in the state of Gujarat in western India.
Life and political career
Modi was raised in small town in northern Gujarat and he has an M.A. Degree in Political Science from the University of Gujarat in Ahmadabad. In the early 1970s, he joined the pro – Hindu Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh organization and he created Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad, unit of RSS´s students´ wing. His followed organizations and associations boldly profited from his political career. In 1987 he joined the BJP and one year later he became the general secretary of the Gujarat branch of the party. Following years, he was helping with toning up the position of his party in the state. In 1990 he helped the BJP with the success in the elections in 1995. BJP controlled the state government relatively short, till the end of the September 1996.
In 2001 he supersedes chief minister of Gujarat and in 2002 he succeeded in winning over the place in Gujarat state assembly.
Modi´s political career became the mixture of deep debate about his success in politics. While he was acting in the BJP he made himself a reputation of a strong leader. Aside from, his public appearances helped him to achieve the position of the most influential leader of the party but also the protentional candidate of the prime minister of India. After a vivid campaign in which Modi made himself as the pragmatic candidate who could turn around India´s economy, he and his party won. BJP get the majority of the seats in the chamber.
