A brief note on Maharashtra’s Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis

Known as the second youngest Chief Minister of Maharashtra, Devendra Gangadhar Rao Fadnavis, is a well-educated Politician who is popular with the masses. He is a member of BJP and the RSS and is the 18th CM of Maharashtra. The man who did his Graduation in Nagpur University, Post-Graduation Business Management also holds a diploma in Methods and Techniques of Project Management from DSE Berlin.

From being a Ward Convener to an Office bearer to becoming Youth Vice President of BJYM to President of BJP, Fadnavis Political career lasted successfully for over two decades. He was the youngest Mayor of Nagpur and was Re-elected as Mayor in Council which is an honor only he holds in the Maharashtra State before becoming a Member of Legislative Assembly. He was elected as the Member of Legislative Assembly for four consecutive terms since 1999. After his Predecessor Prithviraj Chavan, he assumed Office in 2014 and since then is serving as CM of Maharashtra.

He is reputed for his Political Acumen and Skills and is on the receiving end on many awards and recognition. He was awarded the best Parliamentarian from the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association and Nag Bhushan Award for his work on Vidharbha’s cause. He has been elected as secretary of Global Parliamentarians Forum for Asia Region and is the first Indian to be selected for an honorary Doctorate by Osaka City University, Japan.

Devendra Fadnavis was successful in launching various campaigns in Maharashtra that aid in the development of the state. One of his most popular campaigns, Jaiyukta Shivar which targets at achieving a drought-free Maharashtra by 2019 was a commendable initiative. It is also worth noting that his leadership had highly benefited from the investments in Maharashtra and aided in the growth of industrialization. In his leadership, Maharashtra has attracted 50% of the total FDI inflow into the country.
